Designing Rest in Chaos: A Sleep Pod for the Sleepless in the City
What began as a simple brief at IDC, IIT Bombay, sparked a feasible concept for helping busy Indians reclaim their sleep. As part of an intensive HCI course, we conducted contextual research to understand what disrupts sleep in metro cities, from noise and light to stress triggers. These insights informed the design of a Sleep POD concept aimed at improving sleep quality in urban environments. The outcome was a human-centered, sensory-aware prototype created to restore rest amid overstimulated city life.
